Press Releases MGM MIRAGE TO SPONSOR 2nd ANNUAL WOMEN OF COLOR CONFERENCE LAS VEGAS – June 25, 2008 – MGM MIRAGE announced today that it will be a presenting sponsor of the 2nd Annual Women of Color Conference taking place Aug. 10-11, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas. Hosted by the Asian, Latin, Native American and Urban chambers of commerce, the event is a forum for professional development and networking among women throughout Southern Nevada and beyond. MGM MIRAGE was a catalyst in creating last year's inaugural conference. Women have been making significant strides in the labor force since the 1960's. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, a record 68 million women were employed in the United States in 2007 comprising 46 percent of the total U.S. labor force. At MGM MIRAGE, women account for more than 50 percent of the workforce and hold 45.5% of positions at the manager level and above. "Women are playing an increasingly pivotal role in today's business environment," said Debra Nelson, MGM MIRAGE Vice President for Corporate Diversity, Communications and Community Affairs. "Bringing women together in a forum where they can network, develop personally and professionally and learn from the experiences of others will hopefully enable them to contribute even more meaningfully at work, at home and in their community." Last year's inaugural event was a tremendous success, attracting more than 500 minority women and men who gathered to participate in workshops ranging from health and wellness to personal finance, career development and leadership skills.
